Q: What type of physician do you provide medical malpractice for?
A: At MIS, we believe that the majority of all medical malpractice claims come from 20% of the doctors. Our underwriting process is able to identify the doctors that are most likely to fall within the 80% of doctors that we would like to write (or said another way, the 20% of doctors that we don’t want to write). This unique underwriting process is geared toward individual physicians and groups of 5 physicians or less.

Q: What is more important – being an admitted insurance carrier or being rated by A.M. Best?
A: We feel that it is more important for an insurance carrier to be admitted in the State that they are writing insurance in. When an insurance company is an admitted carrier, there can be added protection afforded by the State that would assist the policyholder in case something happened to their insurance carrier. Both Valiant Insurance Company and Physicians Insurance Company are admitted carriers in the States that they offer coverage in.
